What is Robotics? 

Robotics is the study of how robots work.
Educational Robotics introduces students to computational thinking that involves critical thinking, solving problems, and designing solutions. Robotics provides opportunities for our students to see the world anew.
Robots are everywhere, we just don’t call them robots. We call them cell phones, bank machines (ATM), cars, microwaves, and the Internet. These systems impact all areas of every industry: transportation, business and finance, security, healthcare, embedded systems, entertainment, green homes/buildings.

Rationale for Educational Robotics 

Critical thinking can, and should be taught in schools. Skills such as analysis, interpretation, precision and accuracy, along with reasoning can be more important than content knowledge in determining students’ success in college and beyond. In this robotics program, students use the Engineering Design Process to define, brainstorm, analyze, and solve real world problems, within a virtual environment. They learn to program robots while expanding and applying their knowledge of mathematics, the sciences, creative art, communication skills and all other content they have learned in the classroom to solve real-life problems, working individually or together as a team.
